Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Selena Savic: Posthuman and Digital: To Live and Learn with Technological Other
In this talk, I explore the inclusivity of the posthuman turn in the humanities, extending it to encompass technology such as AI, social media, the Internet, web crawling. If technology can be read as a posthuman, this reading must emphasize how it amplifies, rather than neutralize inherent human biases. A more interesting approach is to consider conviviality and acknowledge the agency of people who make existing AI systems.
In the context of art education, this perspective shifts the focus from questions on learning from or with AI to teaching how to dream up convivial technologies.
Selena Savic is an Assistant Professor for Proto-history of Artificial Intelligence and Machines in the Arts at the University of Amsterdam. After a PhD at EPFL and an SNSF-funded postdoc at ATTP, TU Vienna, she was a senior researcher and the Head of the Make/Sense PhD programme at the Basel Academy of Art and Design. Her recent publications include two edited volumes, Radio Explorations, and Teaching Artistic Strategies, 2024, transcript Verlag. She researches, teaches and writes about digital archives, computational modelling, feminist materialism and posthuman networks in the context of art, design and architecture. Her research interests animate a practice at the intersection of computational processes and posthumanist and postcolonial critique of technology. Her current research addresses data and measurement, offering a generative perspective on the interrelations between technicity for making and circulating art.

Die Veranstaltungsräume THEATER, MBR und LAB befinden sich im 2. Obergeschoss des BT2 (Bauteil 2), das am besten über den nördlichen Eingang an der Ostseite in Richtung des Kanals zu erreichen ist. Ein Aufzug ist vorhanden, allerdings müssen Zwischentüren durchquert werden, welche nur teilweise elektrisch zu öffnen sind, sodass zusätzliche Unterstützung notwendig sein kann.
In diesem Gebäudeteil gibt es keine Toiletten. Die nächsten Toiletten befinden sich im BT1 (Hauptgebäude), das mit dem Fahrstuhl und teilweise elektrischen Türen erreichbar ist. Im BT1 befinden sich binär getrennte Toiletten, welche rollstuhlgerecht erreicht werden können. Das behindertengerechte WC befindet sich im Erdgeschoss. Das WC ist ausgestattet mit einer Toilette und einer Dusche. Zugänglich ist das WC mit dem Euro-Behinderten-WC-Schlüssel, der auch beim Hausmeister dieses Gebäudes zu entleihen ist. Die nächsten Toiletten für alle Geschlechter befinden sich im Untergeschoss im BT2 und ist ebenfalls mit Fahrstuhl zu erreichen. Der Zugang zu diesen Toiletten ist während der regulären Öffnungszeiten gewährleistet.
