“Deep Faker” & “AI-Generator Can’t Help Themselves” visit the Autistic and Trans* Coalition Data Center – Workshop mit dem Kunstkollektiv MELT
Can’t Help Themselves visit the Autistic and Trans Coalition Data Center“ statt:
Welcome to the Trans* and Autistic Coalition Data Center! In this workshop, we invite you to join a RPG (Role Playing Game). Bring yourselves, your access needs, your sense of humor and your imaginations. Together, we will take on new, generated roles and meet a plurality of AI’s characters, scripts, and logics. Taking on roles like: “Infintite Monkey Theorem”, “Trans*Crip Friend”, “Code BreakR”, “Deep Faker”, “AI-Generator Can’t Help Themselves”, “Bias-Patriarch” and “Overwhelmed Content Moderator”, we will navigate the troublesome foundation models that try to take up space in our Data Center. How to deal with those Thirsty Swamp Monsters for example that deplete drinking water every time we type a prompt into ChatGPT? On our travels through the Data Center we will hold the complexity that AI can offer access to disabled people that ableist culture tends to consider too expensive or difficult. Join us in thinking and playing through AI imaginations to work towards the AI realities we (don’t) need.
This workshop is a collaboration between Iz Paehr & Ren Loren Britton also known as MELT. Iz Paehr works as an artist-designer touching access, criptastic hacking and trans*feminist world building. Their experiences as a disabled person inform their work and drive their desire for furthering Disability Justice through critical technological practice. Ren Loren Britton is a transdisciplinary artist-designer reverberating with trans*feminism, technosciences, radical pedagogy and Disability Justice – they like a complicated and fun wiggle.
