Christoph
Brunner
Christoph Brunner: „My personal engagement with it [artistic research] was actually 'research-creation,' the Canadian term […] With its starting point from artistic practice as singular, idiosyncratic, and as a form of knowledge production through material means, through sensuous means.“
Christoph Brunner works as assistant professor for philosophy of media and technology at Erasmus University Rotterdam - NL. His research focuses equally on the use of media and their aesthetics in translocal social movements, and the role of artistic and activist practices as forms of affective sense-making. He draws on philosophies of affect and process, decolonial and feminist media theories and practices, and ecosophic approaches to collectivity.
From 2016 to 2023 he directed the ArchipelagoLab for Transversal Practices at Leuphana University Lüneburg, where he also was Juniorprofessor for Cultural Theory. From 2019 to 2020 he was a visiting professor at McGill University Montreal and will be a visiting professor in the fine arts department at Université de Québec à Montréal for the academic year 2024-2025. He is part of the European Institute for Progressive Cultural Policies (eipcp), the transversal texts editorial collective, and the 3 Ecologies Institute (former SenseLab) in Montreal.
Die Interviewserie about Art and Research (aAaR) wurde konzipiert von PD Dr. Martina Leeker und wird gemeinsam mit Prof. Dr. Konstanze Schütze durchgeführt; Launch im September 2023.
