Synchronization session by Astarti: Horizons for our back

SAMSTAG: JUN 26, 2021, 13:00-14:00.

Horizons for our back is a movement based laboratory exploring inner somatic spaces intersecting with the external environment, as a process of embodying resilience. The body is conceived as an organic phenomenon; omni-centered, anti-hierarchic and acutely sensitive to external stimuli (body weather practice). The laboratory will offer an immersive experience around the question of how we embody our stand to the unknown future and how we relate to what we leave behind us. Participants are encouraged to have a pen, paper, watch and a small space to move around.

Astarti works in the fields of choreography, performance and movement education. Her practice relates to participatory projects with educational and performative outcomes in shared space, researching methodologies of physical emancipation and embodiment of resilience. She is affiliated with the Body Weather platform, member of the Dangerous Mouse community in Amsterdam, alumni of Dutch Art Institute (2017) and guest teacher in Artez University of the arts.
